The light on winter
It is already 9.40 when the sun is rising.
The colors are changing fast. it is 10.20.
On a cloudy winter day the scenery is peaceful.
You could easily think the picture to be b&w. The snow looks white and the sky light gray.
The spruces are green, but there is so little light that you have to know it.
It is 15.30 and the sun has gone below the horizon.
The snow looks blue and violet.
The forest is so dark that you can see single trees only against the lighter sky.
On countryside where there is minimal amount of artificial light, the moonlight feels strong and almost surreal. Plenty of light is reflecting of the snow and your eyes get easily used to the dim lightning. The moonlight is blue, but the blueness is far different than the blueness on daytime. The moonlight is greenish blue when the blue on daytime is reddish. It is only 17.45 and it is night. This picture is taken with shutter 1" and f / 1.4.
